North Philly natives and NBA basketball players, Markief and Marcus Morris played it forward when they sent a few “elves” led by their mother, Thomasina to a Walmart store in NorthEast Philly on Monday. The brothers spent $6000 towards customers gifts that were on layaway for some unsuspecting customers. The Morris brothers went to Prep Charter high school in Philly and still consider the city home, even though they play ball elsewhere (Markief -Washington Wizards, Marcus- Boston Celtics).
ABC News (@6abc) caught up with one of the grateful Walmart customers a short time after the generosity of the Morris Twins, delivered by their mother Thomasine Morris.
“God bless them. God bless them! It’s wonderful what they are doing for the people.” Roberta Williams of the Germantown section of the city said of the brothers.
“It’s a blessing to be able to give people anything.” Ms. Morris said after delivering the gifts to the people from her sons. The generosity of the brothers can teach us all a valuable lesson that we should always try to remember. Never forget where you come from!
