The Carolina Panthers have found a buyer for the team. Hedge fund manager, David Tepper purchased the team this afternoon. Tepper, who is also a minority owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, brought the team from former Panthers owner, Jerry Richardson, who has been looking to sell the team after workplace sexual harassment claims against him were made public back in December. The $2.2 billion Tepper paid for the Panthers tops the record set for NFL teams when the Buffalo Bills was sold for $1.4 billion in 2014. Tepper owns 5% of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will have to sell that 5% before completion of the purchase of the Panthers.
