Four people have been arrested in connection with the overdose death that killed actor Michael K. Williams in September. Williams is best known to most for his role as “Omar” on the HBO series “The Wire” (OH, INDEED!).

39-year old Irving Cartegna has been charged with narcotics conspiracy. According to prosecutors, Cartegna is accused of distributing the Fentanyl-laced heroin that resulted in Williams’ death. 56-year old Luis Cruz, 57-year old Hector Robles, and 70-year old Carlos Macci, were all charged with conspiracy in connection to Williams’ death.

Court documents says the defendants sold Williams the product on Sept. 5, 2021. The product was heroin, which had been laced with Fentanyl and a Fentanyl analogue. Cartegna allegedly executed the hand-to-hand transaction with Williams. An autopsy later confirmed that Williams had died as a result of using Fentanyl-laced heroin.
A report from 7 ABC NEW YORK NEWS said, three of the defendants made a court appearance on Wednesday. A fourth defendant was arrested in Puerto-Rico, and is scheduled to appear in court there on Thursday.
