30-year old, Brittney Griffin, reportedly turned herself in to police hours, after shooting a 17-year old during a road rage incident on a highway. A report from FOX-5 Atlanta said, the incident happened in the Eastbound lanes along I-20, at around 4:40 p.m. on May 4th.
After Griffin and another car had an exchange as the two drove on I-20, Griffin began following the car. She pulled up alongside and then fired at least one shot into the other car.
A 17-year old sitting in the front passenger’s seat was shot in the face. He was rushed to the hospital and last reported to be in stable condition. Another passenger in the victim’s vehicle managed to take a photo of Griffin. Police say they posted the picture online. After the photo was released, police fielded numerous calls from callers claiming to know the identity of the alleged shooter.
Police said that Griffith’s three children (aged 4-9) were in the vehicle with her when she shot the teen. Griffith has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of cruelty to children, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. A judge denied Griffith’s attorney’s request for bond.
