A 41-year old woman was reportedly shot at a rec center in the Mill Creek section of the city this afternoon. A Fox-29 Philly report said the incident happened at the Mill Creek Playground on the 4700 block of Brown Street, at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.
First arriving police officers at the scene reported finding the victim lying in the street suffering from two gunshot wounds. She was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where she was listed in critical condition, but she died a short while after the initial listing.
Police said they found a weapon at the scene, and also took a 14-year old into custody. The victim was an employee at the rec center. Police did not give any word on a possible motive for the shooting.
