A 45-year old woman was reportedly shot in the head while walking with a friend in West Philly last night. According to a CBS-3 Philly report, the incident happened on the 700 block of South 60th Street at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.

First arriving policed officers at the scene reported finding the victim laying on the front steps of a home on the block. She was bleeding heavily from her head. Police rushed the victim to Penn Presbyterian Hospital where she was last reported to be in critical condition.
Investigators said at least 9 shots were fired at the scene, but they are not sure if the victim was the target, or just an innocent bystander.
“No description right now of a shooter or shooters. Nor is there a motive. We don’t even know if the 45-year old victim was the intended target because the shots were clearly fired from across the street”. said Chief Inspector, Scott Small.
No suspects have been named and no arrests have been made at this time. An investigation is ongoing.
