GUNMAN WHO KILLED NJ RECORD PRODUCER IN STUDIO ALLEGEDLY SAID “I HAD TO DO IT”

23-year old Ronin A. Nevels has been charged with the murder of 23-year old, music producer, Isiah Shaw A.K.A. “DJ Zay”, on September 30th at a music studio in Lindenwold, NJ. A report from NJ.com said that police were called to the scene at an address on Egg Harbor Road for a reported shooting. When they arrived, they found Shaw, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Court documents said a witness inside the studio reported seeing Nevels “pointing at handgun at Shaw, then heard a shot and saw Shaw falling to the floor”. After the shooting, Nevels reportedly exited the building saying “I had to do it, I had to do it”. In the court documents, Nevels was referred to as “a person who worked at the studio”

Nevels was reportedly arrested the next day at a house in Gloucester Township, after a standoff with a SWAT team. The home where Nevels was arrested was not his. He was also charged with trespassing.

Nevels is currently being held at the Camden County Jail with no bond. His next court appearance was not listed.
