A report from NJ.com said Griner, who is from Bridgeton, N.J. had been accused of killing, burning, and dismembering her 23-month old son, after initially reporting to police that her son had been abducted. Griner was charged with murder and multiple other offenses related to the crime. A jury found her guilty of all charges on Wednesday.

On Feb. 8, 2019, Griner claimed that she’d walked to a store in Bridgeton, with her her son Daniel in his stroller, and her infant child strapped to her chest. Griner told police multiple assailants attacked her and knocked her to the ground. Griner told police that when she looked up, Daniel and the stroller were gone.

According to police, a massive search for the child was conducted. They found no evidence of an abduction. Hours later, Griner told police that Daniel had fell down a flight of stairs at home. She said she put the child in his stroller, took him out in the streets somewhere, and left him there, hoping someone would help. She claimed to be scared that she would be blamed for Daniel’s injuries, as her reason for doing this. Police found Daniel’s burned and dismembered remains in the family’s backyard a few hours after Griner’s claim to police.

Griner’s trial lasted for two weeks, before Wednesday’s verdict was announced. Griner is scheduled to return to court for sentencing on Feb. 21st.
