A 6-year old boy was reportedly found by police locked inside of a dog cage in the Mayfair section of the city this afternoon.
A report from NBC-10 Philadelphia said police were called to a home on the 4200 block of Glenview Street for a report of someone screaming inside of a home on the block at around 1 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
First responding police officers at the scene reported finding two partially dressed children standing in the rain in the front of the house. Once inside of the house, police discovered the 6-year old boy locked inside of the dog cage. Police said there was also an elderly, wheelchair-bound woman in the home, along with a 40-year old male who was upstairs. While talking to the adults, a woman entered the home and announced that she was the parent of at least one of the children in the home. She was taken to the Special Victims Unit where she was interviewed by detectives.
The children appeared to be unharmed, but were still taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. The “mother” has not been charged with any crimes at the moment.
